Tom Cruise movie shoot to close North Street this weekend

BATON ROUGE - More road closures will impact Capital City streets this weekend as filming for the movie Jack Reacher 2: Never Go Back, starring Tom Cruise, continues in Baton Rouge.

North Street in Downtown Baton Rouge will be closed to traffic from 5 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23 and Sunday, Jan. 24.

Baton Rouge Police will be on location, blocking traffic before, during and after the closure. The blocks of North Street affected start at 100 and runs to the 600 block. Police will be positioned between 3rd Street and 4th Street at Main Street and Spanish Town Road.

The Mayor’s Office notes that the Red Stick Farmer’s Market and Main Street Market which normally occur during the filming hours will be open for business during their regular opening hours.

No Parking signs will be posted on the following streets used for the filming and its preparations during the time periods below:

7 a.m. Friday, Jan. 22 – 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25  
- 300 and 200 blocks of North Street

5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22 – 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24
- 100, 400, 500 and 600 blocks of North Street
- 500 and 600 blocks of N. 4th Street
- 500 and 600 blocks of N. 3rd Street
- 500 block of Lafayette Street
