TJ Ribs reopens after murder suicide
BATON ROUGE- TJ Ribs on South Acadian, reopened today following a shocking murder suicide inside the restaurant last night.
The restaurant closed Friday afternoon after a man pulled a gun on another man, shot him several times, then turned the gun on himself. Both men died inside the restaurant.
The manager of TJ Ribs held a staff meeting this morning and offer grief counseling to workers, but told News 2 the most important step was reopening.
"When something senseless like this happens there are three things you can do, you pray, you find support for yourself and others and you put your head down and you go forward that's the sense of urgency to get back to normal, for our employees and for this community," said Manager Kevin Kimball.
Baton Rouge Police say Raymond Levie, chief investigator for the East Baton Rouge Coroner's office, was killed by Shawn Jones, 27-year-old man from Walker, La.
Police have not released a motive in the killing but say Levie was in a relationship with Jones' sister.
No one else inside the restaurant was injured.
