Tip leads to pair of narcotics arrests in St. Amant
ST. AMANT - Sheriff’s deputies in Ascension Parish say a tip from the public led to a pair of narcotics arrests in St. Amant on Monday.
Detectives received a tip on Monday concerning the whereabouts of JoMichael Taylor, who was wanted on felony drug charges. Deputies followed up on the tip, located and arrested Taylor.
APSO’s Major Kevin Hanna said detectives went to a residence on Oak Lane in St. Amant the same day and located 24-year-old Taylor inside. After placing him under arrest, they located and seized a quantity of marijuana, a shotgun, Promethazine and Xanax.
Deputies also took 20-year-old Jeremy Saltzman into custody at the Oak Lane residence as he was also wanted.
Taylor was charged with distribution of a legend drug without a prescription, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute schedule IV CDS, two counts of drug paraphernalia possession, two counts of illegal carrying of weapons, resisting an officer, possession with intent to distribute schedule II CDS, possession of schedule IV CDS and possession with intent to distribute schedule I CDS.
Saltzman was booked on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal carrying of weapons.
