Tip leads to murder suspect's arrest, victim identified
DENHAM SPRINGS - Livingston deputies say a citizen's tip led to the arrest of a murder suspect.
Jason Holcombe, 24, was arrested at around 9 am Sunday morning. Officials say he shot and killed Joshua Thomason, 29, Saturday.
Deputies say the shooting happened on the 9900 block of Spur Road in Denham Springs at around 6pm. Officials believe the two may have been roommates.
Sheriff Jason Ard says the citizen's tip was crucial in locating Holcombe.
Authorities have yet to identify a motive for the shooting.
Holcombe is charged with 2nd degree murder and is being held at the Livingston Parish Detention Center on a $500,000 bond.
