Tip leads to bank robbery arrests

NAPOLEONVILLE- At 3:34pm yesterday, an Assumption Parish Deputy/School Resource Officer was stopped at a convenience store at the corner of Highway 1 and Highway 401 when he was approached by a woman who said she saw three men in masks attempting to rob the bank.

The deputy responded after he noticed the subjects fleeing from behind the bank. A foot chase began and the two suspects were immediately apprehended. A third suspect was located a few minutes later at a home in the Village of Napoleonville.

Detectives responded to the scene and recovered a revolver dropped in the backyard of a home behind the bank as well as black t-shirts, socks and other clothing believed to be used to conceal their identity during the robbery attempt.

One suspect, Samuel T. Johnson, later gave Detectives a full confession of his involvement and implicated his two accomplices in the attempted armed robbery of the bank.

The following three suspects were booked in the Assumption Parish Detention Center last night and are charged as follows: Samuel T. Johnson, Corey Jupiter, Geondre J. Thomas aka "G Money"were all charged with Attempted Armed Robbery.

No bonds have been set as of the time of this release and these suspects are currently being housed at the Assumption Parish Detention Center.
