Tip leads to arrest of men accused of hotel armed robbery
BATON ROUGE - Deputies say they have identified and arrested two suspects accused of an armed robbery that happened at a Baton Rouge hotel last week.
The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office received tips from the public identifying Herman Leroy Hill, Jr., 39, and Kianta Cardelle Edwards, 18, as the two men who armed themselves with handguns and forced their way into a hotel room on Reiger Road in the early morning hours of June 2. The room was occupied by two women at the time and the suspects ransacked their belongings, taking cash and electronic devices before fleeing the scene in a pickup truck.
Detectives made contact with Hills Tuesday night, and he turned himself into authorities at the Kleinpeter substation. Edwards was also contacted by detectives and turned himself in today at the EBRSO Warrants Division.
The investigation into the armed robbery is ongoing.
