Tip from off-duty deputy leads to meth lab bust
BAYOU VISTA - An off-duty sheriff's deputy in St. Mary Parish helped bust an active meth lab after he reported suspicious activity at a Bayou Vista residence on Tuesday.
The deputy said he saw Ryan Leblanc, 25, come out of his Park Place Lane home carrying a container that was on fire around 8 p.m.
After the deputy recognized the container as equipment used in the production of methamphetamine, he reported the incident to narcotics agents.
Agents said they found an active meth lab and other illegal drugs when they searched LeBlanc's home later on Tuesday night.
LeBlanc was arrested on charges of operation of a clandestine laboratory and other drug-related offenses.
