TIME: New Orleans loves a selfie
NEW ORLEANS- People love capturing life in South Louisiana and posting it to the Internet; and they want to be the star attraction, it seems.
TIME Magazine ranked the "selfiest cities" based on data from social media site Instagram. More than 400,000 images were selected since users tagged them "selfie." Editors then ranked their findings on a list of 459 cities where people love to take pictures of themselves.
New Orleans ranked 36th. Researchers found there are 55 selfie-takers per 10,000 people. For the sampling, 188 users were taken and they posted 229 selfie images.
Makati City and Pasig, Philippines, was listed as the world's selfie capital. Manhattan was ranked second. Miami was third. Houston was ranked 285th.
