Tilted train closes parts of LA 1 near Plaquemine
PLAQUEMINE - Traffic officials closed LA 1 between Addis and Plaquemine after a train tilted on its tracks early Wednesday afternoon.
A Union Pacific spokesperson said the incident happened within the train yard at Dow Chemical after 12:30 p.m.
Service roads in the area connected to LA 1 were briefly closed while crews worked to right the train.
As of 1:30 p.m., DOTD reported all lanes were back open on LA 1 in both directions between Addis and Plaquemine.
Sheriff's deputies said there was not a leak involved with the tilted train.
