Apparently one rain delay was not enough in Hoover, Alabama at Regions Park. The LSU Tigers and Alabama Crimson Tide are in the middle of another rain delay heading to the bottom of the 9th with the score tied at 3. LSU led Alabama 3-1 through four innings when lightning and torrential rain entered the area. The first rain delay lasted 80 minutes before the two teams resumed play.

Alabama scored a run in the bottom of the 7th to close the gap to 3-2. Mason Katz made a diving catch in shallow left fielder and doubled up the runner at 2nd base for an inning ending double play. The Crimson Tide struck again in the bottom of the 8th when Jake Smith hit an RBI single to tie the score at 3.

At 4:52 pm, lightning re-entered the area, causing officials to suspend play. The grounds crew put the tarp back on the diamond. There is no word on when play will resume but the Crimson Tide will come to bat in the bottom of the 9th.
