Tigers share the offensive wealth in 56-0 rout of Sam Houston State
BATON ROUGE - LSU scored touchdowns on its first 5 offensive possessions, several young players scored their first career touchdowns for LSU, and the LSU Tigers earned their first home win of the season as they beat Sam Houston State Saturday night.
Travin Dural has caught 3 touchdown passes for the Tigers, including a record-setting 94 yard touchdown on LSU's first posession and first play on offense.
On the Tigers 3rd possession, Leonard Fournette broke off a 40 yard run to get the ball in the red zone, then capped it off with a four-yard touchdown run- and a Heisman pose that Les Miles didn't appreciate after the score.
Brandon Harris also got a chance to enter the game early and the Tigers freshman quarterback responded with a 46 yard touchdown run in the 2nd quarter to put the Tigers up 35-0.
Harris later threw a touchdown pass to Malachi Dupree, yet another pair of firsts on a a night when the Bearkats could do nothing to threaten the Tigers on either side of the ball.
The LSU defense gave up just 206 yards of total offense, and while the Bearkats made their way into the red zone on a couple of occasions, the Tigers never relequished a point.
LSU (2-0) will now face Louisiana-Monroe next weekend at Tiger Stadium.
