Tigers predicted to finish second overall
HOOVER, Ala. - The LSU football team was selected to finish second overall by the media Friday on the final day of Southeastern Conference Media Days in Alabama.
The Tigers were also picked to finish second in the SEC Western Division behind Alabama, who was chosen to win the West and the overall conference crown.
Seven Tigers were selected to the SEC Media Days Pre-Season All-SEC Team as chosen by the media.
Junior cornerback Morris Claiborne picked up his second First-Team All-SEC honor while six other Tigers received All-SEC recognition on the second and third teams. Senior linebacker Ryan Baker and junior offensive tackle Alex Hurst were chosen as second-team selections while senior quarterback Jordan Jefferson and sophomore defensive ends Barkevious Mingo and Sam Montgomery earned third-team recognition.
SEC Media Days, a three-day event featuring each of the SEC head coaches and selected players, signals the unofficial start of the college football season.
