Tigers changing approach at the plate vs Florida
BATON ROUGE - Head coach Paul Mainieri took most of the blame Thursday for the lack of offensive production this season, and the head man vowed a change in that approach this weekend vs Florida.
"I think I've confused the kids a little bit, trying to make them be very selective at the plate," said Mainieri. "I think what I've done is taken the aggressiveness out of our hitters."
Alex Bregman has taken the brunt of the criticism at the plate, after going 3-for-23 in the batters box during conference play.
Bregman, a 19-year-old sophomore, has been restricted from media access for the next two weeks, a change Mainieri thinks will help loosen things up for the struggling shortstop.
