More work is planned for Tiger Stadium, with the football season just weeks away.
The plan won't add any seats, and it's not just to spruce up the stadium. Windows of former dorms need to be repaired, starting with 400 on the north side. Each costs $2,000. It's the first in the Tiger Athletic Foundation's three-phase beautification plan.
LSU Athletic Director Joe Alleva said he has had an earful of complaints and an eyeful of the broken, rusty windows. He said he's ready for the renovations.
Two more phases could follow the window repairs, eventually making the area around Tiger Stadium more pedestrian-friendly. The north side will get the first round of window repairs, but the whole stadium will need the repairs eventually.
Donations are the only source of money, so the three-phase plan could take a while. If you’d like to help but can’t donate now, there will be a chance in the future.
