Tiger Football headed to Chick-fil-A Bowl on New Years Eve
Numerous LSU Tiger football players have tweeted that their team will play in the Chick-Fil-a Bowl on New Years Eve in Atlanta against the Clemson Tigers, and an official school release has confirmed the information.
Kickoff for the bowl game is set 6:30 CST in the Georgia Dome and the game will be carried by ESPN.
It is a disappointing finish to a 10-2 season to drop so far down the Bowl pecking order, however the Tigers have had tremendous success in the game in the past.
LSU is 5-0 in the Peach/Chick-fil-A having last played there in 2008 when freshman quarterback Jordan Jefferson led the Tigers to a 38-3 win over Georgia Tech.
Les Miles will not meet with the media to discuss the bowl game Sunday night, however he will have a conference call with bowl officials and possibly Dabo Swinney, Clemson's head coach, tomorrow at some point.
The LSU Tigers played the Clemson Tigers in the Peach Bowl back in 1996 with LSU winning the game 10-7.
