Tiger basketball takes out McNeese St 73-58
The LSU Tiger basketball team took down McNeese St. 73-48 on Tueday night behind 23 first half points from junior college transfer Shavon Coleman.
Coleman stepped up in the absence of forward Johnny O'Bryant III who was on the bench in street clothes nursing a left calf injury.
The Tigers led by 16 at the break and extended that lead in the second half while emptying the bench.
Coleman paced LSU with 25 points and 10 rebounds, guard Anthony Hickey had nine points and six assists, while LSU band member and hoops player Andrew Del Piero was the third leading scorer on the night for the home team with seven points.
Coach Johnny Jones said he is hopeful to get O'Bryant back in time for next Tuesday's night game against Northwestern St.
