Tiger baseball beats Lamar 8-1 in midweek for fourth win of season
The LSU Tiger baseball team broke open a close game in the eighth inning with six runs on their way to a 8-1 win over Lamar on Tuesday night in Alex Box Stadium.
Paul Mainieri's club improved to 4-0 on the season and will turnaround and play visiting BYU on Thursday night at 6:30 p.m..
Lamar issed seven walks and only two strikeouts although all eight walks were earned runs.
Tiger starting pitcher Cody Glenn threw five innings of three hit ball, walking two and allowing one unearned run.
LSU secondbaseman JaCoby Jones slapped his second home run of the season, a solo shot in the second inning to tie the game at 1-1.
