Tickfaw woman found dead in Bayou DeZaire
MADISONVILLE - St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's deputies say the body of a 37-year-old Tickfaw woman has been pulled from Bayou DeZaire in Madisonville.
The sheriff's office Thursday said the woman's body - found early Tuesday - was in the water between a large boat and a pier along the water's edge.
Investigators say the woman had been dropped off at the boat - which belonged to a friend - Monday night. The boat's owner asked the sheriff's office to check on the woman after he could not reach her on her phone Tuesday morning.
Authorities say there were no signs of a struggle on the boat or other indications of foul play.
The coroner's office is expected to release a cause of death and the woman's identity.
