Three middle fingers on Starlight Drive
DENHAM SPRINGS - A not-so-merry Christmas display is upsetting a neighborhood in Denham Springs for the second year in a row.
Sarah Childs is giving the finger to a neighbor she accuses of stealing her dog last year. Denham Springs Police said their investigation shows that didn't happen, and no criminal activity was found. Childs says they're wrong, and the feud with her neighbor continues online.
That's why she's back, with more lights. She says she's putting up three middle fingers this year.
"You can be offended and I am very sorry if I am offending anyone, but everyone knows what a middle finger is," says Childs.
Neighbors said they hate the display. Childs said someone even cut the power cord to her display. One neighbor says they've come up with a way to try and get around explaining the finger.
"When his grandson asked him what Miss Sarah was doing on her roof, the grandfather explained to his grandson, that basically Miss Sarah was pointing a place on the roof for Santa to land. So it's all in the perception or how you choose to perceive it," said Floyd McLain.
Despite cut cords to her display, Childs says all three middle fingers will be displayed. She says, she will get the last word.
