Three charged in meth investigation
HAMMOND - Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards said authorities arrested three people Tuesday for possession of around $6,500 worth of methamphetamine and equipment used to make it.
Edwards said Chastity Heaney, 29, Jonathan Goings, 36, and Amanda Scalia, 34, came to the attention of law enforcement through a joint investigation with Louisiana State Police to stop the manufacture of methamphetamine.
Authorities said the three suspects were located at a carwash in Robert, and a search of Heaney's car revealed equipment and precursors used in the manufacture of methamphetamine. They also recovered a small amount of the drug.
Law enforcement said Heaney, Goings, and Scalia were charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute a schedule II narcotic. The vehicle was removed from the property after being cleared by a hazardous material cleanup crew.
