A threat made against Republican Congressman Todd Akin of Missouri is called an active and open investigation by U.S. Capitol Police. Akin is under fire for comments he made about rape, saying women's bodies have ways of preventing pregnancies in cases of what he called "legitimate rape." He's running for a U.S. Senate seat. He has apologized repeatedly and refused demands by top Republicans to drop out of the race.
