BATON ROUGE - Despite a chilly morning, there wasn't an empty seat available today at the State Capitol.

Many of those who came to Baton Rouge travelled long distances to get here.

James Stewart, a retired teacher, said he made a bucket list and attending an inauguration was on that list.

"You know, I don't have too many more inaugurations to make, and I never have been able to come to one," Stewart said.

Alfred Marshall only had to make the trip from New Orleans. He stood in the back, but he made his presence felt.

"We are here today to thank Governor Edwards for signing the food stamp waiver that feeds 62,500 people, to put food back in their mouth," Marshall said, while holding his food stamp sign.

Cheers were heard loudly throughout Edwards' speech, but perhaps the loudest applause came as the F-15s flew over to end the ceremony.
