Third suspect wanted in New Iberia home invasion
NEW IBERIA - Sheriff's deputies issued a warrant for the arrest of a third person wanted in connection with a break-in that happened on June 13 in New Iberia on Friday.
Deputies said 25-year-old Ameze Jack was among three people, one of whom had a rifle, who broke into a home on Fontelieu Drive just before midnight. There were three adults and two children in the house at the time of the home invasion, and a struggle between one of the victims and a suspect ended in the burglar being shot, according authorities.
Deputies said the injured suspect, 25-year-old Darteze Jack, was taken to a nearby hospital. Authorities arrested a second suspect, 19-year-old Devon Moore, after a traffic stop in New Iberia on June 14.
All three men face home invasion and attempted murder charges.
Deputies said Jack is 5'10" tall and weighs about 160 pounds. Anyone with information about him should call the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office at (337) 369-3711.
