Things got hot in local reality TV show kitchen
BATON ROUGE- Celebrity chef Robert Irvine told the owner of a restaurant here he'd never been more annoyed than he was when dealing with him during a recent shoot.
The owner of Mama Della's New York City Pizzeria went back-and-forth with Irvine during the episode which aired Wednesday night on the Food Network. TV crews filmed the show in January.
"Get with the program or sell the restaurant because without his help and with you being so stubborn, you're never going to succeed," Irvine told owner Barry Kalt about his relationship with his son, which was sour leading up to producers and crew renovating the restaurant and updating the menu.
The store was losing as much as $18,000 a month.
"Mama Della's saw a significant increase in customer traffic for the one-month period after the shoot," Kalt said in a post on the network's website. "Sales have increased by 30 percent over the same period in 2013."
