BATON ROUGE – Authorities are looking for two men that stole an elderly woman’s purse after dragging her quite a ways with their car in a Baton Rouge parking lot.

Lawrence McLeary with the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office said on Jan. 19 the victim was walking in the parking lot of the Walmart on College Drive when two men in a car stopped and asked her for directions.

The passenger then grabbed the woman’s purse while the driver took off, dragging the woman 75 feet while she tried to hold on to the purse.

The thieves left the scene heading south on College Drive, and were driving a black Honda Civic.

Anyone with information about this crime or the culprits’ identities should call the sheriff’s office at (225) 389-5000.
