THIBODAUX, La. - Police arrested a man in Thibodaux last night after they said he demanded free food at a fast food restaurant he used to work at, then made it himself when workers refused.

25-year-old Terrance Shepard faces charges of disturbing the peace and remaining after forbidden from the incident, which happened at the Wendy’s on Audobon Avenue in Thibodaux.

Police said Shepard came into the restaurant around 5:45 p.m. Thursday and demanded he be given free food because he used to work for Wendy’s.  When workers refused, witnesses said Shepard got angry and started cursing at the employees and customers.

During the confrontation police said Shepard went behind the counter and fixed himself a “Frosty”.  After he was told to leave several more times, Shepard put the dessert on the counter and knocked it back across the kitchen.

Officers found Shepard in a nearby parking lot and arrested him.  They said he also had an outstanding warrant for contempt of court with a $25,000 bond.  Police said he is currently in the Lafourche Parish Detention Center.
