A Thibodaux man is behind bars after police say he molested two young relatives.

34-year-old Kentrell Dwayne Shelby turned himself in Monday after a warrant was issued for two counts of aggravated incest.

Det. Joey Quinn said investigators were called to the Thibodaux Regional Medical Center on Saturday to look into a possible child molestation complaint. Officers were told by a woman that her three-year-old daughter had been molested by Shelby, who is a close relative, while staying at his home. Quinn said they also received information later that Shelby had molested the girl’s four-year-old sister.

A warrant was issued for Shelby’s arrest, and he turned himself in Monday evening.

Shelby is currently being held at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center.
