Thibodaux considering saggy pants ban
THIBODAUX - The City Council in Thibodaux is considering a ban on saggy pants.
Lafourche Parish already has a ban on saggy pants. That was passed in 2007. Terrebonne Parish outlawed saggy pants in April.
The council is considering an ordinance similar to what they have in those parishes. It would amend the city's current indecent exposure law to include "pants that sag below the waist and expose undergarments."
It includes a fine of $50 for a first offense, $100 for second offense, then $100 and 16 hours of community service for a third offense.
The saggy pants ordinance will be considered at the city council meeting on Tuesday.
