BATON ROUGE - The day before Turkey Day certainly had the roadways stuffed all over town.

"I've been all over the city to different job sites, and from one side of baton rouge to the other, traffic has been pretty much gridlocked all day," said Baton Rouge resident Joseph Brown.

What is usually only a rush hour problem happened the entire day on the i10 bridge, especially going east into the city.

"Some of those chemical plants that are south of us in Iberville parish are now letting off their workers so, that combined with the holiday traffic is part of our problem," explained Lt. Ken Albarez with the West Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office.

Albarez reported he and 4 other deputies responded to 6 different fender-benders around the parish.

"We go back to our same issue with the fact that this bridge--right on the other side of the bridge--narrows down to one lane, so you have two lanes going into one, and then people are not reacting quickly enough to the traffic stopping," he said.

Luckily though, if you made it through today, you've made it through the worst of it. Lt. Albarez expects there to be little traffic for Thanksgiving day.
