BATON ROUGE - A vice chancellor at the University of Texas System is being considered to run the University of Louisiana System.
Sandra Woodley, vice chancellor for strategic initiatives at the Texas college system, has been invited to interview for the job on Nov. 9, the UL System board of supervisors said Thursday.
Woodley was chosen from a pool of 16 candidates for the job.
"We have a strong group of applicants but feel Dr. Woodley's finance background and experience at multiple higher education systems most closely aligns with the current needs of the University of Louisiana System," said UL System Board Chair Wayne Parker.
The UL System has been without a president since Sept. 15, when Randy Moffett retired.
The system has more than 92,000 students enrolled at nine public colleges.
