BATON ROUGE - A fugitive wanted for sexually assaulting a child in Texas was captured in Alexandria by the Attorney General's Fugitive Apprehension Unit.

32-year-old Christopher Pryor is currently awaiting extradition to Texas in the Rapides Parish Jail after he was arrested by agents at an Alexandria business.

The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office in Texas asked for assistance from the Louisiana Attorney General's Office after their investigation determined that Pryor could be living somewhere in the state.

The Attorney General's Office noted the importance of working with law enforcement across state lines, as child predators like Pryor frequently move from place to place in order to avoid arrest.

Since the AG's Office created the Fugitive Apprehension Unit, agents have captured a total of 1,242 fugitives, clearing 2,886 warrants.
