Terrebonne's "Gator Man" dead at 76
Terrebonne Parish's nuisance-alligator hunter, Easton DeHart also known as "Gator Man", has died after suffering serious burns in a hunting accident.
DeHart died early Wednesday at Baton Rouge General Medical Center.
DeHart was burned after he and two friends set fires to route rabbits out of the brush in a remote, marshy area, not far from DeHart's camp near Bayou Penchant.
DeHart had served for about eight years as Terrebonne's nuisance alligator catcher, the man people called when 'gators ended up near inhabited areas.
