Tennessee grabs SEC tennis tourney title with 3 shut outs
Tennessee is the first Southeastern Conference tennis team to shut out each of its three opponents en
route to a conference tournament championship.
The Volunteers captured the SEC men's title on Sunday by beating Florida 4-0 in the championship match held in Lexington, Ky. They also defeated LSU 4-0 in the quarterfinals and Mississippi 4-0 in the semifinals.
Tennessee (26-1) receives an automatic bid to the NCAA championship tournament with the conference title, which begins May 15. The tournament field and playing sites will be announced May 4.
