Temporary school meeting in Reserve, LA
Reserve - St. John the Baptist School Board will have an unscheduled meeting to make a choice whether to rezone the district and if the board plans to purchase the modular buildings for an interim school campus.
The meeting is reported to be held on Thursday in Reserve, Louisiana.
The purchase of the modular classrooms is part of a strategy to create a temporary campus at East St. John Elementary School for the estimated 800 elementary school students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grades who are currently scattered on three separate campuses.
Lake Pontchartrain Elementary in LaPlace was severely damaged and will have to be dismantled from the floodwaters of Hurricane Isaac last year.
The school officials are building a campus that they expect to be ready by January in the meantime.
