Temporary library open due to River Center branch upgrades

BATON ROUGE - A temporary library has been opened on Third Street during upgrades at the River Center Branch Library.

The interim facility is located at the Kress Building at 447 Third Street across from the Matherne’s Market downtown.

Library books, computers and other materials from the River Center branch have been relocated there until the permanent branch reopens.

Among the technology available at the temporary branch are “robust” WiFi, 17 computers with free web access (including the EBRPL Digital Library) and free public printing of up to 20 black-and-white pages per day.

The temporary library site’s hours are as follows:

Monday thru Thursday — 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Friday & Saturday — 9 am to 6 p.m.
Sunday — 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
