Teleperformance expands its Shreveport center
SHREVEPORT - New jobs are coming to Shreveport.
Gov. Bobby Jindal joined Travis Coates, executive vice president of operations at Teleperformance, on Friday to announce the company's creation of 740 new jobs for its Shreveport customer contact center over the next two years.
The move, Jindal said, will bring total employment at the northwest Louisiana center to 2,000 workers and create one of the largest domestic Business Process Outsourcing centers in the country.
Teleperformance plans to add more than 400 new employees this year, reaching the full target of 740 new jobs in 2014.
Louisiana Economic Development says Teleperformance acquired new customer contracts in the healthcare and telecommunications industries to create the job growth in Shreveport.
