Three Livingston Parish teenagers were arrested, accused of beating a dog with a baseball bat.
Deputies were called to Pardue Road in Springfield on the night of July 17th.
They found a severly beaten and bloody dog.
Witnesses were able to lead deputies to the suspects.
A 15 year-old-boy was arrested, accused of hitting the dog in the head with a bat.
He was charged with aggravated cruelty to animals and taken to the Florida Parish Detention Center.
Deputies also charged a 16 year-old-boy and 15 year-old-girl with principal to aggravated cruelty to animals.
They allegedly coaxed the dog off of the porch into the yard where the beating took place.
They were released to the custody of their parents.
Deputies say a seven-year-old boy was also involved in the beating, but could not be charged because of his age.
Officials recommended the parents get counseling for the boy.
