Teen wounded in movie shooting headed home
BATON ROUGE - Bonnie Kate Pourciau, a Baton Rouge teen wounded during the deadly movie theater shooting in Colorado, is on her way back home.
Pourciau went through multiple surgeries since she was shot in the leg at the premiere of the new Batman movie in Aurora, Colo. last week. She'll continue her recovery at a Baton Rouge hospital.
She and a friend, Elizabeth Sumrall of Baton Rouge, were on a cross-country trip when they stopped in Aurora to see the movie. Authorities said graduate student James Holmes killed 12 people and injured dozens more in a shooting rampage during the middle of the movie.
While in the hospital, Pourciau said she didn't think she was going to survive the attack, but wasn't afraid because she felt God's presence. She was visited by President Barak Obama while recovering, who said he was encouraged by her bright smile.
News 2 will have more on Pourciau's return tonight starting at 4 p.m.
