Woman dead, school on lockdown after shooting
PONCHATOULA- A woman was shot and killed, a teenager wanted in connection with the shooting is on the loose, and the city's high school is on lockdown because of the situation Tuesday morning.
Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's deputies said Ryan Pourciau, 18, is a person of interest in the death of April Vanderlinden, 39. Vanderlinden was shot on Brookfield Drive, off Esterbrook. She was pronounced dead at an area hospital.
Pourciau is also wanted for violating protective orders.
Deputies said Ponchatoula High School, about two miles from the scene, was put on lockdown because he "had connections to PHS," Chief Dennis Pevey said.
Pevey said the school is on lockdown until further notice.
