Three New Orleans police officers are on administrative leave after the shooting death of a teenager.
Police say officers were responding to a call of shots fired Sunday night when they were directed to a man carrying an assault rifle.
Investigators say officers confronted the teen and demanded he drop the weapon.
Police say the suspect allegedly pointed the rifle at the officers, and they fired several times hitting the suspect.
Deputy Superintendent Marlin Defillo says officers recovered the fully loaded rifle and also found a loaded, semi automatic pistol nearby.
The names of the officers and the victim have not been released.
