Teen remains critical days after ATV crash
SORRENTO - A teen is still in critical condition after an ATV crash on New Year's Eve. It happened on Highway 22 in Ascension Parish.
The ATV collided with a car around 10 p.m., according to the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office.
Dakota Guedry, 18, suffered multiple injuries including brain trauma in the crash.
Guedry was driving across the highway near Main St. in Sorrento with Erin Guillotte, 17.
Guillotte was pronounced dead at the scene.
"We passed by I saw the four-wheeler. It was an older version four-wheeler. It was all dirty and messed up," Michelle Rivere said.
Rivere drove by the scene just moments after the crash.
She saw the ATV twisted and mangled.
Rivere said she has seen other people on ATV's cross the highway right where the accident happened.
The driver of the car was not cited. APSO do not believe impairment was a factor in the crash.
