Teen killed crossing road
FRENCH SETTLEMENT - Police said a teen died after being hit by multiple cars while crossing a Livingston Parish highway last night.
Chief Harry Brignac with French Settlement Police said the 16-year-old was running across Highway 16 around 8 p.m. Wednesday when she was hit by a vehicle. Brignac said the impact threw her into the path of another vehicle heading the opposite direction.
The chief said both drivers stopped at the scene, and the teen was pronounced dead at 8:26 p.m.
Police said the victim was wearing dark clothing when she crossed the road. They headed back out to the scene Thursday to continue their investigation.
