Teen dies in Baton Rouge hospital after Thibodaux shooting
BATON ROUGE - A 19-year-old woman has died in Baton Rouge after she was shot in the head in Lafourche Parish late last month.
According to the Lafourche Sheriff's Office, Shantell Pollard died at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital Friday.
Authorities say she was in critical condition after a shooting that took place on Park Avenue in Thibodaux on Oct. 31. At the scene, deputies found Pollard suffering from a gunshot to the head in the passenger seat of an SUV.
Pollard was unresponsive when officers found her. She was transported to Thiboaux Regional Medical Center for treatment and was later moved to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge where she later died.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing. Anyone with information on this crime is asked to submit a tip anonymously by phone at 1-800-743-7433.
