Teen arrested in deadly accidental shooting
BATON ROUGE - Police arrested a 19-year-old in Baton Rouge today after they said he accidentally shot and killed a Denham Springs teen earlier this month.
Cpl. Tommy Stubbs said Tyler Washington faces negligent homicide charges in the death of Trevon Wilson, 18, on Jan. 20.
Stubbs said the two were passing a loaded gun between themselves and others at a home in the 2600 block of Main Street when it went off. Investigators determined Washington was "carelessly operating" the gun just before it went off, hitting Wilson.
Wilson was taken to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries. Washington was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison today.
