BELLE CHASSE -Sheriff's deputies in Plaquemines Parish arrested a Belle Chasse High School student who allegedly threatened to open fire on campus.

Leonard F. Jourdan III, 18, is accused of making threats to "shoot up" the school and kill a teacher.

No violence actually took place and a news release from the sheriff's office gave no indication that a weapon was brought on campus.

Plaquemines Parish Sheriff Lonnie Greco said Jourdan and his parents came in for an interview when contacted by authorities, and that Jourdan admitted that he made the remarks because he "believes the world is coming to an end."

Jourdan is charged with terrorizing.
