Teen accused in stabbing death of girlfriend's dad
LAS VEGAS - A 19-year-old accused of stabbing his girlfriend's father to death in a Las Vegas home claims the girl asked him several times to kill her dad because he was abusive.
Jose Martinez is charged with murder, conspiracy and burglary in the death of 45-year-old Jaime Meza Guzman, who was found dead Monday inside a residence on San Marcos Street. An unnamed 17-year-old also was arrested on suspicion of murder and conspiracy.
A police report says Martinez told authorities he jumped on a sleeping Guzman and stabbed him about 30 times with a pocket knife. It also says Martinez told police Guzman denied being abusive as he pleaded for his life.
Martinez is set for a court hearing Thursday. It wasn't immediately clear if he had an attorney.
