NEW ORLEANS - An attorney for the Louisiana Association of Educators says the teacher union will ask Gov. Bobby Jindal to get back millions of dollars disbursed to private and parochial schools in the last year in the form of tuition vouchers.

Brian Blackwell made the statement Tuesday, hours after the state Supreme Court declared that the Legislature violated the state constitution last year by funding a Jindal-backed voucher program with money earmarked for public schools through the state Minimum Foundation Program.

Blackwell said that if Jindal doesn't act, LAE will go to court to demand that the money be returned to the Department of Education.
