Teacher arrested for contact with student
MOSS BLUFF, La. - A teacher at Sam Houston High School has been arrested, accused of having inappropriate contact with a student.
Louisiana State Police say the girl, during questioning, confirmed being involved in a sexual relationship with the teacher. The teacher is identified as 37-year-old Lance Duhon of Lake Charles.
State police say text messages between the girl and Duhon contained explicit sexual content and "were indicative of a sexual relationship between the two."
On Friday, investigators say Duhon admitted to inappropriate contact with the girl. He was booked with indecent behavior with a juvenile and prohibited sexual contact between an educator and student.
Bond was set at $11,000. If convicted of both charges, he faces up to 7 1/2 years in prison and a $6,000 fine.
It was not immediately known whether Duhon had an attorney.
