Teacher accused of sex with another student
BATON ROUGE - Authorities filed more charges Tuesday against a former Baton Rouge teacher accused of having sex with a student.
Sheriff's deputies said a second student came forward with allegations of a sexual relationship between himself and Ashley Dowden, 41.
Deputies said the student was 18 and the relationship happened earlier this month. They charged Dowden with misdemeanor prohibited sexual conduct between an educator and student.
Dowden faces carnal knowledge and other charges after authorities said she had sex with a 16-year-old student at Riverdale Christian Academy, where she teaches English. The school placed her on indefinite leave after learning of her Aug. 21 arrest.
Deputies said they were alerted to the relationship after the teen's parents found naked pictures and sexually-explicit texts between Dowden and their child on his phone.
