BATON ROUGE - Taxpayers are off the hook for a fire damaged building at LSU. A small structure on top of Patrick Taylor Hall briefly lit up the night sky Tuesday.

A private contractor is doing renovations at the building. Wednesday, a spokesperson for the Lemoine Company said their insurance would cover the damage and renovations would not be delayed.

A spokesperson for Baton Rouge Fire Department had said the fire was likely caused by hot roofing materials installed Tuesday afternoon.

No one was injured in the blaze and the damage is described as minimal.
